How to Hang a Hammock Indoors

Wall attachments for your hammock
When hanging a hammock inside your home it is important that you hang your hammock from a wall stud or ceiling beam so that the weight of your hammock can be safely supported. Locate a stud or beam by tapping the wall or ceiling or by using an electronic stud finder.

Hammer a small nail to make absolutely certain you're directly on the stud or beam. Locate the center of the beam by tapping additional holes to the left and right of the first one. Once properly located, drill a 3/16" starter hole, then attach a heavy-duty hanging hook like the one above. Repeat the process to fix a second attachment for the other end of the hammock.

Hanging the hammock
Having a hammock always hanging in a room of your house would be a little hard to manoeuvre around. So it is desirable to be able to hang and take down your hammock quickly and with the minimum of fuss. Here's how to hang a hammock indoors and make the set up and takedown really easy.

Go to your local home improvement store and get some spring links like the ones below. Make sure to know how much weight they can hold.

Attach the spring links to the loops at either end of the hammock, then simply clip them to the heavy-duty hanging hooks you attached to the wall.
